All too often, when visiting a lifestyle club in the United Kingdom, you are in a less than desirable neighborhood of a big city, looking for a non-descript door that leads to somewhere you begin to question the wisdom of looking for in the first place. Contrast that to continental Europe where clubs tend to be located in a well maintained suburb or on a quiet country lane, are well lit and signed, have large, safe and secure parking lots and frequently, accommodation on site for those that have driven more than a couple of hours.
As we approach tonight’s chosen club, we are having a difficult time remembering that we are on a quiet stretch of the A5 in the English Midlands and not in an outlying suburb of Rotterdam, Frankfurt or Zurich. Standing along the side of the road is a tasteful hanging ‘pub sign’ in front of a large and well maintained car park makes it clear we have arrived. ‘Liberty Elite. A Private Members Club for Liberated Adults’. Are we really still in England?

The club begins in a large L shaped room with a pub style cash bar and a buffet of fresh sandwiches and snacks against one wall. Three things stand out. The fireplace in the center of the room is burning real logs. The sofas and chairs are immaculate and every one of them matches and finally, the place is spotlessly clean. Couples are introducing each other at the bar and others are already deep in conversation on the sofas placed around the room. Around the back a full disco is in full swing, with a professional quality lighting and sound system, tables around the dance floor and most important, a live D.J. playing current club music that you can actually dance to!
Liberty Elite maintains a smart casual/sexy dress policy and it succeeds in making everyone look just that little bit more attractive. Jeans and running shoes are not meant to get past the door. In fact one gentleman in jeans does manage to get in with his partner and the disc jockey wastes no time in pointing this out to everyone on the dance floor in a light hearted way.

On to the play areas. After all, that’s why we are here! A set of double doors lead off the main room into the clubs spa area. The hallway, the large restrooms, the dressing room with lockers and carpeted floors, everywhere, is spotless. There is no doubt a lot of work that goes into the maintenance of the venue and it is immediately noticeable.
At the end of the hall is the clubs spa and group area and it rates as one of the best we have ever seen. A large raised spa pool that could easily hold 12 to 14 people (and it would be fun trying to fit more) is in the back corner with a glassed rain shower area at the bottom of the stairs. The lighting in the spa area is subdued, the music is rhythmic and low enough that conversation is easy and the pool is never empty. We discover our tub friends are friendly, clearly interested in getting to know everyone else much better, but very respectful of everyone else’s space and clearly understand swinger protocol.
All too often group rooms can be so full on that they easily frighten off newcomers or softer swingers. This room just feels different. Don’t get us wrong. This is a room for players. If you want group action you are going to get it here. But, if you would rather be on one of the small beds to the side and be close enough to sense the eroticism around you but still have your own space, you can. If you want to be in the middle of it all on one of the larger beds you can. A subtle glance and a smile will get you all the attention you want. If you prefer to be close but not directly involved your wishes will be respected. ‘No means no’ is clearly understood by all but ‘bring it on’ is equally well received.
Upstairs the fun continues but caters more to those looking for a little more privacy or intimacy. Several bedroom size rooms have everything from double beds (again with those tasteful and clean sheets!) to one room with a large ‘double double’ for larger groups. Doors can be locked, left open beckoning on all comers, or just slightly ajar to tease. And if things get crowded, two more bedrooms with red lighting await around the back of the dance floor.
Liberty Elite is without doubt one of the premier clubs in the United Kingdom. It compares favorably with the best in Europe. No detail has been overlooked from the cleanliness of every room in the club, to the tasteful paintings and artwork on every wall.
For an overnight stay, booking your room ahead of time is essential and can be done via the email located on their website, www.libertyelite.com. The rooms while basic are comfortable and well equipped and self service breakfast is included. If you would prefer to stay nearby numerous other hotel options are only a few minutes away.
Liberty Elite is not a ‘closer’ option to a flight or the channel tunnel from England to Europe. It stands on its own as a destination in itself and is not to be missed.
Surrounding the spa are a number of beds from the large round one in the center of the room to others of different sizes and various heights around this large but still intimate room. Best of all, not a single hard and cold vinyl covered mattress is anywhere to be found! Every bed is strewn with clean and fresh dark sheets, blankets and different zebra or tiger patterned covers. The effect is totally and completely bohemian and just begs you to join in.
